“O You who are hidden within the hidden being of my existence.” ~Rumi

Compiled and written by: Nātiq Khamūsh (The Silent Speaker)

If you are freed from worldly attachments yet hear the unspoken secret,
Tell me: what was the inner sign of that silent speaker?

And if, like Jonah, you were freed from the prison of fish and sea,
Tell me—what was the meaning of that sea, its waves, and its raging?

Poem by Rumi (Tarjieat 18)

Rumi getting an invitation to the Heaven he decided to go:

A letter arrived from that world, calling me to return;
I resolve to go back, I lift my baggage toward the heavens.

Upon his arrival he gets an order to return:

It said: “Return—listen! Go back to your own city.”
I said: “Until I arrive, I am heartsick and a traveler.”

The memory of this trip does not go out of his mind. In this journey, he visits Noah Abraham Moses Jesus and Prophet Muhammad and talks to them

That meadow and that land of sugar have never left my heart;
I have entered union, I am present in the garden.

Because of the guidance of Your birds, the heights of the air grew fearsome;
my path was closed, for I am a dove bound to the body.

It said: “Do not grieve over this—fly in safety and joy,
for a secure companion has become the soul of the sanctuary-dove.”

Whoever holds Our writ of protection tucked in his cloak,
whether he journeys by land or sea, shall be generous and honored.

Noah lived joyfully among enemies for a thousand years;
the protection of Us was in his hand—therefore he prevailed.

Thousands like him—pure-natured chosen servants—
at every moment received sustenance and refuge from Our door.

Moses said: “I do not fear the sea, for I am a pearl.”
Abraham said: “I do not fear the fire, for I am gold.”

Jesus said: “By His Name I give life to the dead;
I grant sight to the blind—I do not look toward medicine.”

Muhammad the Trustworthy said:
“With a single radiant sign I strike the moon of the heavens,
for among moons, I am the brightest.”

Finally, he goes to visit Bahá’u’lláh:

I cast aside form and go before the King of Kings,
for by His fire I am illumined, and by His hand I am fashioned.

When I depart, brothers, say nothing of ‘vanishing’;
I am present in the ranks of the spirit, even if I seem gone to you.

My fair name in this world will be like the blowing breeze;
its fragrance will spread amber-scented, for my soul is sweet-smelling.

Dwelling in garden and meadow among those like me,
I am freed from pit and rope, for I am outside the well.
